M.M., Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. B.M., Gnesin’s College in Moscow: Gnesin
College-Alexandra. Further professional studies at Tchaikovsky
National Music Conservatory in Kiev, Glier’s Music College, and Towson
University. Winner of All-Union Chamber Ensemble Competition (1st prize,
USSR,1988); All-Union Soviet Composers Competition (Moscow,1987); Music
Theory Competition (Moscow, 1987); Finalist of Haddonfield Symphony International
Competition (NJ, 1994); Radio Premier of "San Antonio" on National Public Radio
(1995). Numerous solo and chamber performances in
Russia, Ukraine, Europe, and USA. Faculty member of Baltimore Music School
(currently Janna Friedman Music School) since 1995, Baltimore Hebrew
University (1993-2000), and New Shiloh School of Music under Morgan State
U-ty (1995-1998). Studied with professors A.Nasedkin,
J.Martin, R.Reyes, L.Ogrinchuk, M.Telenchak, A. Snegirev, A. Muravsky. Alexandra’s
students won top awards in Music-Fest Rising Talents and American Fine Arts
Festival competitions in Piano Solo & Piano Ensemble categories and were
selected to perform at the Carnegie Hall in New York (2010, 2014, 2015, 2016,
2017, 2018, 2019, 2022), Merkin Concert Hall in NY
(2013), Academy of Music at Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, PA (2017), and
Italian Academy Teatro at Columbia U-ty (2019). Publications: Numerous instrumental compositions, vocal, piano, ensemble, and orchestra arrangements. Published Music Book: "23 POPULAR PIANO DUETS and TRIOS" (2013). In collaboration with songwriter Yelena Feldman, released two Record Albums: "Some Day" and "Cup of Tea" (2003, 2011). |
Janna Friedman |
Piano.School Founder.M.M.,Kiev
Conservatory of Music. Taught in Ukraine and USA, performed with the Rakhlin’s and Turchak’s orchestras. Winner of the
Ukrainian piano competition, 2nd prize. Numerous performances in USSR and
USA. Was a faculty member at the Peabody Preparatory School.
Founded Baltimore Music School in 1995. Mrs. Friedman’s students performed at
the Carnegie Hall, won multiple piano competitions, and became professional
musicians. 2010 JFMS Award Recipient of the Outstanding Achievements in Piano
Teaching. |
Olga Chala |
Piano. M.M., Lvov
Conservatory of Music. Winner of the Ukrainian Chamber Ensemble Competition
(Donetsk, 1980). Faculty member of the Lvov Conservatory of Music for 20
years (piano and piano methodology). Numerous solo and ensemble appearances
in Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, and USA. Accompanist for “Dibrova” Choir
and clarinet players. Ms.Chala has taught more than 60 students at
JFMS. Her students won American Fine Arts Festrival and Music-Fest
Rising Talents competitions and performed at the Carnegie Hall in New York
and Mildred & Ernest E. Mayo Concert Hall in NJ. 2010 and 2016 JFMS Award
Recipient of the Outstanding Achievements in Piano Teaching. |
Valentina Morozov

Conservatory and University of Tumen’, B.A.University
of Astrachan’. Violin and Piano teacher and
performer since 1976 in Russia, Israel, Canada, and United States. Instructor
of Russian language & literature as well as psychology and ethics since
1989. Has more than 30 years of combined experience teaching in Russia and
USA. Possesses up-to-date Russian language modifications from Russian experts
and colleagues. |
Yelena Feldman |
Piano, Piano
Ensemble. B.S.,Kiev
Civil Engineering Institute, Kiev Music School. Recorded more than 40 songs
and instrumental compositions. In collaboration with Alexandra Suhoy,
released two Record Albums:"Some Day" and "Cup of Tea" (2003, 2011). Provides private
piano lessons to children and adults. Worked at Gan
Yeladim Preschool, Baltimore Hebrew University, and
Towson University. Yelena’s students won Music-Fest Rising Talents
competitions in Piano Solo and Piano Ensemble categories and were selected to
perform at the Carnegie Hall in New York, Manhattan School of Music, National Opera
America Center, and DiMenna Center for Classical Music in New York (2016, 2020, 2022). JFMS
Award Recipient of the Outstanding Achievements in Piano Teaching (2016, 2022). |
Vera Yakirevich |
Piano, Ensemble, Music Theory. B.A. Moscow Pedagogical
Institute. Have more than 30 years of combine experience
teaching piano in Russia and USA. Love teaching
students of all ages and abilities. Every lesson is carefully planned
for each student short- and long-term goals. Students participated in MD
state music teachers associations’ competitions and recitals (2010, 2012,
2015, 2017) and have received various awards and honors. |
Roman Gordon |
Guitar,
Accordion, Composition. M.A. Artistic Director of the
Children Choir and chamber ensemble in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. Faculty
member of the Dnepropetrovsk Music College. Chair of the Composer’s Union and
Director of the Ukrainian Musical Union. Author of more than 200 songs,
instrumental compositions, and arrangements of folk songs. Laureate of
numerous All-Union and State Youth Song Competitions. |
Elvira Ostrovska |
Piano,
Piano Ensemble. M.S. Kiev Institute of Microbiology, Kiev Music School, graduated
with Honors in 1977. Piano Ensemble performer at the Ukrainian Ministry
of Health (1981- 1984). Won the Best Music Performance titles at the Music
competitions among Kiev Universities as part of the piano ensemble (1983,
1984). Provided private piano lessons to children and adults. Piano teacher
at Harmony Music School and J. Friedman Music School. Elvira’s students won Music-Fest Rising
Talents International competition in Piano Solo category and were selected to perform at the DiMenna
Center for Classical Music in New York (2022). HMS Award Recipient of the Outstanding Achievements in
Piano Teaching (2022). |
Margaret Yefimenko |
Piano,
Voice.
B.A. (2013) and M.M. (2014) in Voice from National Music Academy named after
P. I. Tchaikovsky (Kiev’s Conservatory). M.M. in Voice Performance (2015)
from Temple University. B.M.E. from Messiah College
(2018). 12 years of teaching piano, voice and general music privately and in
classroom settings to students of various ages in Ukraine and United States.
16 years of stage performance with leading parts in multiple operas in
Ukraine and United States. Winner of multiple Ukrainian and International
Operatic competitions. |
Nikita Borisevich |
Violin,
Viola. M.M.Moscow
Tchaikovsky Conservatory, GPD,
Peabody Conservatory. Prizewinner of international competitions in
Los-Angeles, Easton(MD),St.Petersburg. Winner of the
All-Russian competition in Perm. Mr. Borisevich has performed with academic
orchestras of Volgograd,Yekaterinburg, Perm Opera
Theatre Orchestra. He toured and performed in Germany, Spain, Austria, Czech
Republic, through Russia and USA. Mr. Borisevich was a private violin
